Mentor/ProtÉgÉ PROGRAM

Grunley Construction is extremely proud to have been approved by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to serve as a mentor partner to two outstanding protégé small business firms – Drake Incorporated and Goel Services, Inc. Under this program the firms have established the Drake-Grunley Joint Venture and the Grunley-Goel Joint Venture, LLC. These joint ventures are structured to facilitate the mentor-protégé process, and each of these joint ventures is considered a small business and allowed to participate within the SBA 8(a) program. Both joint ventures look forward to working with Federal agencies under sole source and competitive procurements within the 8(a) program and under open small business procurements.

Drake Incorporated

Drake is a Washington, DC certified LSDBE/CBE, HUBZone-certified, African-American woman-owned general contracting firm. Stephanie Drake serves as the President of Drake Incorporated. Drake has provided services for the Federal Government and private sectors of the construction industry. Grunley and Drake have worked together on past projects and are presenting themselves through the Drake-Grunley Joint Venture to local and federal agencies for design-build, construction management, and general contracting services.

Goel Services

Goel Services is a 8(a) & HubZone certified contractor specializing in environmental and construction services. P.J. Goel serves the President of Goel Services. Together, Grunley and Goel have successfully completed projects together for the Federal Government and the Government of the District of Columbia. Presently, Grunley-Goel Joint Venture is providing services on a number of projects under a Multi-Award Construction Contract (MACC) with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command – Washington.
