As part of a joint venture, Grunley is the Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc) for the phased modernization of this 1,800,000 square foot federal office building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The contract includes preconstruction services for phases 1 through 8 and construction services for phases 1-4. The building serves as the headquarters for the U.S. Department of Commerce and houses 3,000 staff. The modernization is expected to be eight phases. The building remains occupied during the construction. The project is seeking LEED NC 2.0 Gold certification.
