Architect:Architrave P.C. Architects
Contract Amount:$4 million
Date of Completion:07/31/2009
This project involved repairing the exterior limestone facade of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Department of Education Building. In eight phases, Grunley replaced all of the limestone above and below the windows from the second to sixth floors. Much of the new limestone was artificially weathered in order for it to match the existing stone that remained in place between the windows. Grunley also performed asbestos and lead abatement, repaired select stone and cleaned the façade.
