Architect:Swanke Hayden Connell
Contract Amount:$53 million

The IRS Headquarters Building is located in the historic Federal Triangle and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The project was completed while the building remained 100% occupied by federal workers, including the office of the IRS commissioner. The work primarily consisted of the demolition and fit-out of basement level utility spaces. Selective renovations in the upper levels of the building were also performed. We restored select historic elements and tuck-pointed, cleaned and repaired the exterior masonry and stone facades. The project won several awards, including a 2008 Aon Build America Award for Federal Heavy Renovation from the Associated General Contractors of America.
