The Grunley project team is working on bringing the US Custom House renovation for the GSA in Philadelphia down the home stretch for a summer completion in 2012.
We are currently working on the final exterior and interior items from floors 17 to 15 in order to remove scaffolding.
The wood window installation is substantially completed from the 15th floor down to the 6th floor.
The Terra Cotta has been completed except for a few pieces that need the scaffolding system removed for them to be installed. The repairs and repointing have also been completed.
The new roof on the top of the building is nearly completed. The stainless steel roofing system has been fully installed and the roof top antennae are being relocated. Two additional stainless steel roofs will be installed upon the staged removal of the scaffolding system.
The new boilers have been permitted and turned over with the only open items being some requested additional work and the final commissioning to be done by mid-December once the boilers are continuously operating on full-fire. Lighting has been fully installed with the exception of the final mounting of the lights upon roof installations.
One half of the metal windows and all the glass have been delivered to the project. Dozens of windows have been installed with further installation proceeding daily. Painting is progressing keeping a large crew jumping across the building.
The project is going full-bore to achieve as much as possible prior to the full effects of winter sets in.
