GRUNLEY CONSTRUCTION AWARDED PROJECT AT HARRY S TRUMAN BUILDING

February 26, 2008 - Rockville, MD - The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded Grunley Construction, a local general contractor, a $6.5 million contract to perform Phase 1B demolition and abatement work at the Harry S Truman building in Washington, DC. This is an initial project leading to follow-on renovation and modernization phases, yet to be awarded. All work will be performed while the building remains occupied. In 2000 under a prior GSA contract, Grunley performed interior dismantling and removal at the Old State Department Building.
Grunley’s project team has initiated activities for this 301-day project and is actively setting up preliminary protection and performing site security activities prior to commencing with demolition and abatement activities. The Construction Manager for GSA for the project is Jacobs Facilities, Inc.
