This project consisted of the addition and renovation of over 410,000 SF. Grunley completely renovated the existing 340,000 SF school and built three additions totaling 70,000 SF. The project spanned 34 months and 16 phases. On many phases Grunley turned over completed space ahead of the contract schedule to meet the schools' needs.
Scope
- Considerable classroom, teacher and laboratory space was created.
- Locker rooms, the cafeteria and auditorium were renovated.
- The administration area, media center and library were rebuilt and relocated.
- Grunley created a new layout for the parking area, and entrance for cars and buses.
- New parking spaces and parking lot site lights were installed.
- As each phase was complete, Grunley performed the associated landscaping to include new seed, sod, trees, and entrance sidewalks.
The project met all critical deadlines and was completed ahead of schedule.
This project won a 2008 Washington Contractor Merit Award from the Associated General Contractors of America and a 2008 Merit Award in the “Best Building Renovation” category from the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
