This project consisted of a comprehensive renovation of the existing occupied main Student Union building at the University of Maryland, College Park campus. Additional project components include:
- A 30,000 SF building addition to house new mechanical systems
- A four-star restaurant (Adele's)
- Lounge areas
- Large food court and seating area
- Renovated theatre
- Substantial meeting room space
- Office space
- Catering kitchen
- Two-level bookstore
Building renovations were performed in four phases and included reconfiguration of common areas and the construction of a central food court (pictured above). Temporary systems were coordinated to accommodate the continued occupancy of the building and all restaurants. New finishes included terrazzo flooring, custom millwork, specialized paint systems, and new flooring and ceilings. Exterior upgrades included ADA improvements, site paving, retaining walls and landscaping.
