The demolition & abatement of the FOB-8 office building was performed by Goel Services and Grunley Construction, two firms that have established a Mentor-Protégé relationship. Goel is a SBA 8(a) HubZone Certified contractor. The project, located in southwest Washington, DC involved demolition and asbestos abatement of the 467,000 SF building that was previously a laboratory facility for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The existing chiller system was also re-routed. Goel Services provided executive management of the contract, and performed asbestos abatement and demolition services. P.J. Goel, President of Goel Services, Inc. served as the Project Executive.
Grunley supplied hoists and ramps, performed rough carpentry work, oversaw mechanical and electrical work and fire protection disconnects, and provided scheduling services.
