Grunley Construction has been upgrading the fire and life safety systems within more than 1,600,000 SF of this building located at 1000 Independence Ave., SW. The building serves as the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Energy. The Washington Business Journal has ranked this project as the 4th largest construction job in metropolitan Washington.
New light fixtures, ceilings, risers and ductwork have been added and asbestos abatement performed. Work in the occupied areas occurs at night.
