The J. Edgar Hoover Building has served as the headquarters for the Federal Bureau of Investigation since it first opened in 1972. This project involved the demolition, removal and complete reconstruction of plaza and sidewalk paving, landscaped areas, and related waterproofing system surrounding the building. In addition, parking garage ramps and related security and snowmelt systems were removed and replaced.

All work was ongoing while the building remained fully occupied. A comprehensive phasing plan and schedule of work was developed along with the careful coordination and cooperation between the contractor team, owner, and occupants.
