The Pentagon is the headquarters of the Department of Defense and at over 6,000,000 square feet, is one of the world's largest office buildings.

The project was sequenced, beginning with the design of the interior spaces and a concurrent construction activity that included demolition and the removal of all hazardous material. The interior spaces included a segregated Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) area, a stand-alone Uninteruptable Power System, and telecommunication facility.

The interior design portion of the project included a raised floor configuration with an open office format. Interior upgrades included new HVAC systems, new power and secure communications, drywall and acoustics improvements, new doors, frames, and hardware with provisions for security, and new finishes.
