This project consisted of the complete renovation of this 100 year old Army
barracks — home to the honor guard of the "Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier." This project entailed the complete replacement and/or restoration of
the original wood windows.
Window work included removal, replication and
replacement of historic sash, lead paint abatement and refurbishing of wood window
frames. Also, the project included replication of new windows and frames to match
existing, weatherstripping of window frames and sash, cleaning of hardware, and
recaulking of window openings.
In addition, new mechanical, electrical, and sprinkler systems were installed as well as new drywall plaster, painting and other interior finishes.
