The Architect of the Capitol has awarded Grunley Phase 3 of the Bartholdi Park Restoration project. The Bartholdi fountain and basin are located in the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington, DC. Grunley will complete Phase 2 in Summer 2010.
Prior to construction, the fountain and basin were in deteriorating condition, and no longer functioned. The statue itself was restored off-site by others during Phase 1.
At project completion Grunley will have repaired the existing basin, added new plumbing and electrical infrastructure, replaced the existing underground utility concrete vault, installed new pavers, and reactivated the fountain.
