Grunley Construction fit out 170,000 SF of House and Senate expansion space inside the new three-level Capitol Visitor Center (CVC). The new space is separated by secure corridors and is open to Congressional representatives and their staff. The new space features:
- Hearing/meeting rooms;
- TV- and radio-studios; and
- State-of-the-art media infrastructure for both the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate.
The Grunley project has won several awards, including:
- A 2008 Washington Contractor Award from the Associated General Contractors of America
- A 2008 Local Construction Excellence Award from the Associated Builders & Contractors
- Three 2008 Craftsmanship Awards from the Washington Building Congress
- A 2008 Award of Merit for Interior Fit-out from Mid-Atlantic Construction
