Grunley Construction served as the Design/Build contractor modernizing the Pennsylvania Avenue Wing (Phase III) of the historic Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB) in Washington, DC. Grunley, with its A/E team, completed renovations to the 17th Street Wing (Phase I) in March 2007, and its work on the State Place Wing (Phase II) in June 2009.

The objective of Phase III was to both modernize the remaining area of EEOB (~172,000 SF) and incorporate security enhancements to match those included in the initial phases. EEOB provides administrative office space for the Executive Office of the President.

Although Phases I and II of the EEOB modernization were designed and constructed to obtain LEED® EB certification, in Phase III, the project team moved to LEED – NC for certification compliance.
