This project involved Phase 1B demolition and abatement
work at the Harry S Truman Building, the third largest federal building in Washington, DC. The building serves as the headquarters of the U.S. Department of State and office of the U.S. Secretary of State, the body and executive responsible for the foreign affairs of the United States. The building, constructed in the 1930s, houses 8,000 federal workers.
In addition to
demolition and abatement work, Grunley salvaged and reinstalled existing stone and protected stone and other finishes to remain, and constructed an emergency egress stair.
