Grunley Construction provided façade renovation, restoration, and replacement services at the original 1940's circa Terminal of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The scope of the project included:
- Facade repair and restoration, including paint removal, realkalization of concrete surfaces, repair of concrete and recoating of concrete surfaces, primarily at the landside facades of the historic Terminal A building.
- Restoration of original light fixtures on columns.
- Restoration of ceiling mosaic artwork and decorative concrete walkway.
- Building lettering on the outside of the building.
- Window replacement and reinforcement at the 1941 portion of Terminal A building.
The building remained occupied throughout the construction process. Portions of work were performed at night.
The project won several awards including a Washington Contractor Award from the Associated General Contractors of America, and a Citation from the American Institute of Architects/Potomac Valley Chapter.
