
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™)
Grunley Construction is experienced in applying the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™) rating system to its work. Grunley's staff includes a number of LEED Accredited Professionals and the company is in the process of completing several significant projects under the LEED rating system.
- The modernization of the Department of the Interior's Cafeteria earned LEED CI 2.0 Platinum certification.
- The phase 4A modernization of the U.S. Department of Agriculture South Administration Building earned LEED CI 2.0 Gold.
- The FDA Building One Renovation received the U.S. Green Building Council's NC 2.0 Gold certification.
- The Reed School/Westover Library project received the U.S. Green Building Council's NC 2.0 Gold certification.
- The Childcare Addition at George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center in Arlington, VA received LEED Silver.
- The Aberdeen (C4ISR Center of Excellence) project earned LEED Certifiable status.
- The U.S. Department of the Interior Building Modernization is a pilot project for certification under the LEED - Existing Buildings program.
- The Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB) modernization is seeking certification under the LEED – New Building/Major Renovation program.
- The Mary E. Switzer modernization was initially designed to achieve LEED NC v.2.1 Silver Certification. However, recent High Performance Green Building (HPGB) changes have resulted in the viability of achieving a higher level of LEED certification.
- The Herbert C. Hoover Building modernization will seek LEED NC 2.0 Silver.
- The Child Development Center at Pax River, MD will seek LEED NC 2.2 Silver certification.
- The Lafayette Building modernization will seek LEED Gold.
- The Arts & Industries Building Revitalization - Shell, Exterior Enclosure, and Structural Improvements project is designed to achieve LEED NC 2.2 Gold certification.
- The Construction for the Phase 1B Adaptive Reuse (St. Elizabeths) project is designed to achieve a LEED 2009 Gold NC rating.
- The Andrews Air Force Base Munitions Storage Area project is seeking LEED NC Silver certification.
- The Ft. Detrick Auditorium & Training Center project will seek LEED "certified" status.
