
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™)
Grunley Construction is experienced in applying the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™) rating system to its work. Grunley's staff includes a number of LEED Accredited Professionals and the company is in the process of completing several significant projects under the LEED rating system.
- The U.S. Department of the Interior Building Modernization is a pilot project for certification under the LEED - Existing Buildings program.
- The Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB) modernization is seeking certification under the LEED – New Building/Major Renovation program.
- The Mary E. Switzer modernization will seek receipt of the U.S. Green Building Council's Silver certification under LEED-NC.
- The FDA Building One Renovation recently received the U.S. Green Building Council's NC 2.0 Gold certification.
- The Reed School/Westover Library project recently received the U.S. Green Building Council's NC 2.0 Gold certification.
- The Childcare Addition at George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center in Arlington, VA will seek LEED Silver.
- The Herbert C. Hoover Building modernization will seek LEED NC 2.0 Silver.
- The Emergency Service Center project at Ft. Belvoir will seek LEED NC 2.0 certification.
- The Aberdeen (C4ISR Center of Excellence) project will seek LEED NC 2.2 Silver.
- At the completion of all the phases, the modernization of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture South Administration Building will seek LEED® Silver. Grunley completed Phase 3 in 2005, and is currently modernizing Phase 4A.
