Grunley completed phases 2 and 3 of the five-phased restoration and park renovation of the Bartholdi Fountain. Prior to construction, the fountain was in deteriorating condition, and no longer flowing water. Frederic Auguste Bartholdi (1834-1904) created the fountain. He also designed the Statue of Liberty. Grunley's phase 2 scope of work included the restoration and retrofitting of the plumbing and lighting infrastructure for the historic fountain. The aging statue pedestal was demolished and replaced and repairs were made to the 100’ diameter, 3’ deep fountain basin. New plumbing and electrical infrastructure were added. Our phase 3 work included installation of a new underground concrete utility vault that controls the mechanical and lighting operations of the refurbished water feature.
