Grunley performed fire and life safety improvements, accessibility upgrades and other select restoration work throughout this National Historic Landmark. The museum holds many banners, documents, pieces of furniture and other artifacts of the women’s suffrage and equal rights movement. The primary scope included improvements to the building’s life safety systems, including new sprinkler and fire alarm systems. Throughout the facility, our team protected all the existing historic fabric and finishes during construction, including the wood flooring and door and window surrounds. We improved accessibility by adding an exterior lift, brick walk and a ramp. Additional modifications were made to the interior to comply with ADA regulations, including an interior lift.
