The U.S. General Services Administration has awarded Grunley and Shalom Baranes Associates a $139 million design-build contract to renovate the Center Building on the St. Elizabeths West Campus in Southeast DC. This marks the next phase of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's ambitious consolidation at St. Elizabeths. The Center Building will be the new headquarters for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The project will involve architectural, engineering, historic preservation, construction, security, commissioning, and other related services necessary to construct/renovate the building. The renovation of the 270,000-square-foot Center Building is slated for completion in 2017. The construction will take approximately 32 months.
