    Grunley Named Prime Contractor for Potomac Annex Building 5 Renovation

    Grunley has been selected by the U.S. General Services Administration to renovate Building 5 on the Potomac Annex (POTAX) Complex in Washington, DC. Building 5 is one of several buildings on the POTAX campus that will be renovated to provide additional office space for a Federal tenant. Once completed, it will accommodate approximately 200 occupants.

    Valued at $4.7 million, the Potomac Annex Building 5 Renovation project will entail creating approximately 18,500 square feet of office space with open and closed offices, building circulation and infrastructure support.

    The work will also include hazardous materials abatement; selective demolition; architectural and structural improvements; replacement of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; and installation of new telecommunications, sprinkler and fire alarm systems. Select historic restoration will be performed. Grunley will be required to implement and maintain sustainable construction processes throughout completion of the project. All work must be performed without impeding access to adjacent residences and federal buildings.
