Grunley to Build New Student Services Center in Rockville

Montgomery College Selects Grunley for $49.15 Million Project.

Grunley has been awarded a $49.15 Million contract to build the new Student Services Center on Montgomery College’s Rockville campus. The 127,275 GSF center will offer Montgomery College’s 60,000 annual students a modern setting with classrooms, labs, and faculty offices to help support the college’s commitment to student achievement and the environment --the project expects to achieve LEED Silver certification from the US Green Buildings Council.

“We pleased to continue our work to help Montgomery College offer its students, faculty, and staff modern innovation in a sustainable learning environment,” says Sonya Brown, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. “The Student Services Center is Grunley’s second project at the Rockville campus following the firm’s recent completion of the Science West Renovation that opened January 23, 2017."

The scope of the project also includes the demolition of the existing Student Services Center and a landscaped promenade. The existing Student Services Center will remain open during construction of the new facility. Work is scheduled to begin on April 2017 and the new building will open in time for the 2019 Fall semester.
