Grunley Brings Modern Living to Meridian Hill Historic District

Jair Lynch selects Grunley for $34.5 Million redevelopment project.

Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners (Jair Lynch) has chosen Grunley to convert a former Howard University dormitory at 2601 16th Street N.W. into a $34.5 Million boutique multi-family residential building.

The building, formerly known as Meridian Hill Hall, suffered a fire in March 2014 and was never re-occupied. This adaptive reuse is Grunley’s first project with Jair Lynch and Grunley’s first total building renovation of a multi-family property. The renovated 180,695 gross square foot apartment building will offer more than 200 new, modern rental housing units in the Meridian Hill Historic District. The building will feature mid-century classic finishes, an indoor pool and the creation of penthouse lounges and a rooftop terrace.

“We are honored to be a part of the revitalization of this historic location in Washington, DC” says Chip Scott, Senior Vice President and Operations Manager. Future residents will enjoy panoramic views of downtown Washington DC, views of the Rosslyn skyline, a full suite of modern amenities and strong connections to the Meridian Hill Historic District. The project will comply with Washington DC’s Green Code. Work commenced April 2017.
