Grunley Participates in P-5001 Joint Air Defense Operations Complex (JADOC) Phase II Groundbreaking

On Monday afternoon, December 12th, Grunley was pleased to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for our P-5001 Joint Air Defense Operations Complex (JADOC) Phase II project at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, DC! The ceremony included remarks from Major Hibbert, Chief of Plans; Major General S.T Boyle; Brigadier General Richard Wholey; Colonel Catherine Logan; and Lieutenant Colonel Joshua Jessup, Commander of the 224th Air Defense Group. Following remarks, a ceremonial groundbreaking took place next to the existing building. The $21.7 million project scope consists of constructing a 27,000 SF addition that nearly doubles JADOC’s current operations space.

Vital to safeguarding the skies, JADOC’s command and control centers operate 24/7, relaying information about airspace and air defense around the nation’s capital. Established in the wake of 9/11, JADOC initially operated from multiple temporary locations. The new facility will provide JADOC adequate space to consolidate its functions and operate with state-of-the-art technologies.
