The Washington Monument Reopens to the Public

Grunley's Washington Monument Visitor Screening Facility and Elevator Modernization project reaches substantial completion.

On Thursday, September 19th, the Washington Monument reopened to the public! The morning began with the First Lady of the United States attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by another brief ceremony held with the United States Secretary of the Interior, David Bernhardt, who acknowledged those who contributed to the project’s success.

Grunley is proud of our project team who recently completed the construction of a new visitor screening facility and modernization of the elevator at the historic landmark. We’re honored that our team’s hard work will be enjoyed by thousands of visitors for years to come as they ascend 500 feet to take in the best views of our nation’s capital from this iconic structure.
