Erick Miranda

Controller

Erick serves as Controller of Grunley leading the daily operations of our Accounting Department. With more than 20 years of experience in the department, Erick specifically oversees financial management and reporting, payroll, accounts payable and job cost administration. “I enjoy working with the talent we have at Grunley,” says Erick. “The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that other people in the company are able to use what we provide them to drive the company’s growth.”

Mike McCaffrey

Director of Risk Management

Mike serves as Director of Risk Management with 28 years of construction loss control experience. He is responsible for managing insurance claims and Grunley’s comprehensive corporate insurance program. Mike works to create an environment of risk awareness and reduction which includes working closely with Grunley’s Safety, Quality Management and Training Departments along with the operational teams. According to Mike, “so much of risk management is about finding better, smarter ways to execute every part of our work. I enjoy being part of a group that constantly strives to raise the bar as builders.”

Daniel Snyder

Director of Corporate Safety

Dan has served as a Corporate Safety Director for 28 years, of which 21 years have been with Grunley. Overall, he has more than 30 years experience in the construction industry. Under Dan’s leadership, the firm has received numerous regional and national safety awards. Among his many responsibilities are ensuring safety compliance on all Grunley projects, leading the company’s risk management and insurance programs, supervising the safety team, conducting training sessions, and developing site and activity specific work and safety plans. According to Dan, the best part of his job is working with our on-site staff and subcontractors.

Will McDonald

Director of Safety

As Director of Safety, Will prioritizes the safety of our people, partners, and clients. He is responsible for directing Grunley’s construction safety program while working collaboratively with project teams to optimize safety performance. Under his strong leadership and guidance, Grunley maintains an outstanding safety record and continues to be an industry leader in workplace safety.

Keri Hardnock

Director of Human Resources

Keri has 21 years of experience in human resources management. She oversees the company’s recruiting, performance and policy management processes, and employee benefits program. She also directs the human resources team and works closely with employees and managers on a regular basis. A problem-solver by nature, Keri enjoys that each day brings a different experience. She thrives on developing solutions to challenging situations.

Brian Ufko

Director of Preconstruction

Brian serves as Director of Preconstruction and leverages his 25 years of experience in operations, estimating, and preconstruction to create the best overall experience and value for all stakeholders. He leads Grunley's entire preconstruction process including budgeting, coordination, planning, management, and delivery of deliverables. Brian is a hands-on team player who thrives on creating solutions that benefit all stakeholders in any project.

David Green

Director of Purchasing

David joined Grunley in 2002 and serves as Director of Purchasing, leading the development and execution of all Grunley subcontractor, provider and supplier agreements. He oversees the Purchasing Department, providing guidance for new purchasing staff and helping to build strong relationships with the subcontractor community. When asked what he enjoys most about his role at Grunley, David says that design-build projects are the most interesting since they allow him to dive into the details and find unique but economical solutions to solve some of the most complicated issues.

Ronda Hockensmith

Director of Proposal Management

Ronda joined Grunley in 2012 and serves as Director of Proposal Management. She leads all aspects of the proposal lifecycle as she and her team incorporate strategies and themes to produce Grunley’s high-quality winning proposals for public and private clients. Ronda says that her favorite part about putting together proposals is that each one is a chance to prove that Grunley is the best solution to bringing a project to life.

Erik Carlson

Director of Estimating

As Director of Estimating, Erik oversees the estimating team in the creation of budgets, estimates and price proposals through process improvement, workload and project assignments, quality management and estimate reviews. By harnessing his 13 years of experience, he establishes standardized procedures, methods and processes for bidding and stays informed on industry developments applicable to estimating.

Dan Hardnock

Director of Preconstruction

As Director of Preconstruction, Dan brings 29 years of experience in estimating and preconstruction with a focus on base building commercial, institutional, multi-family, mixed use and hospitality projects. His management style stresses teamwork, communication, and attention to detail in order to help deliver successful results. He values the strong relationships he has developed with clients, colleagues and subcontractors throughout his career.

Andy Thoma

Director of Virtual Design and Construction Services

As Director of Virtual Design and Construction Services, Andy brings 27 years of experience in technology to strategically improve the construction process. In his role, he ensures that cutting edge technology enhances Grunley’s ability to deliver projects faster, more cost effectively and with a greater level of quality. One of Andy's favorite parts of his role is figuring out how to apply emerging construction technologies on some of the most iconic and historic structures in Washington, DC.
