The project scope includes the restoration of the memorial’s portico roof and ceiling. Grunley will replace roof systems along the colonnade and upper roof and perform the associated repairs to the stone along the architrave. Work will repair the leaking Portico roof tile, pediment stone and waterproofing system; replace the damaged and missing stone coffers/beams of the portico ceiling; create an access to the Portico attic space; re-grout and clean all stone surfaces; and repair capital volutes. The scope also includes replacing the membrane roof and flashing systems along the flat colonnade and upper roof sections; modifying and upgrading the memorial’s existing security cameras and related cabling; and laser cleaning the dome, portico roof and cornices, and other related exterior stone surfaces of biofilm.
