Grunley Wins $3.5M Johns Hopkins Peabody Library Contract

Grunley wins second contract at Johns Hopkins University Peabody Library.

Johns Hopkins University has awarded Grunley a $3.5 million contract to complete the George Peabody Library Fire/Life Safety Upgrades project! This project, our second at the historic library in Baltimore, will involve preconstruction and construction services for the phased installation of fire suppression and alarm systems throughout the building - all while maintaining the ongoing operations of the historic library.

In addition to serving as a research library for the Johns Hopkins University community, complete with an impressive, non-circulating collection of over 300,000 volumes of books dating back to the 18th century since it first opened in 1878, the Peabody Library is also a premiere wedding and event venue. The project is scheduled to begin November 2017 and reach substantial completion in August 2018.
