Grunley Mourns Loss of Company Co-founder, Martin Grunley
On Friday, April 17th, Martin R. Grunley died peacefully in his sleep at age 98 in his Bethesda home. Martin was the co-founder of Grunley Construction Company, Inc.

The American Subcontractors Association of Metro Washington presented Grunley with the John H. Hampshire Award for Outstanding General Contractor for the second year in a row. In addition, Jim Callahan, a Grunley senior project manager, received the Outstanding Project Management Award. The awards were presented at the 2013 Subby Awards Banquet.
Grunley was awarded first place within its Building Division (650,001 – 850,000 work hours) in the National Associated General Contractors of America 14th Annual Construction Safety Excellence Awards program.
Four Grunley subcontractors have received 2013 Craftsmanship Awards from the Washington Building Congress. One of the subcontractors received the prestigious STAR Award for Technical Excellence. The award winners include:
