Grunley Hosts 2nd Girls, Inc. STEM Academy
On July 5th - 7th, Grunley’s Women in Construction Group partnered with Girls, Inc. to host its second annual Summer STEM and Leadership Academy at Howard Middle School in Washington, DC! Girls, Inc. is an organization that strives to educate, challenge, and empower girls through direct service and advocacy. Throughout the week, the group of middle school girls participated in hands-on activities and workshops to get a taste for the world of construction. They kicked off the week with a safety presentation and fire extinguisher demonstration; continued by building bird houses and decorating tool belts; and concluded the week engaging in a panel discussion, where women from our firm shared their knowledge, expertise, and experiences, providing valuable insights into various construction careers. Thank you to all the Grunley team members who volunteered their time to support their efforts.
