National Museum of Women in the Arts to Reopen This Weekend
This weekend, the National Museum of Women in the Arts will reopen to the public after successful completion of our $52.4 million renovation project! The two-day celebration will be filled with activities for all ages on Saturday and free admission throughout the weekend. Planned activities include art-making, interactive entertainment, live performances and spotlight conversations on special exhibitions and newly renovated areas. The project scope involved extensive updated interiors and finishes; existing façade and windows restoration; new storefront/windows and vapor control systems installation; new elevators; new sprinkler, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems; and structural revisions. The historic building’s transformation is highlighted by new, immersive exhibitions showcasing powerful works by contemporary women artists, enlarged public programming areas, enhanced amenities, and increased accessibility.
